China International Auto Parts Exposition (CIAPE)
2007-10-19 02:07  CIAPE

Dear Exhibitors and Purchasers:

In the face of economic globalization today, enterprises must have a worldwide vision, paying close attention to global resources and markets and participating in international division and competition for their survival and development. The automobile industry is one of the industries having the highest level of globalization in the world. Holding China International Auto Parts Exposition (CIAPE) is a significant event for strengthening and expanding international cooperation and exchange, for pushing forward the balance development of import and export of automobile products, and for upgrading China's automobile and auto parts industries. It is also an effective move for coordinating China's market demands both domesticly and internationally and for balancing China's import and export. And it is particularly important for coordinated cooperation and mutual development between China's automobile industry and automobile industries the world over.

In the context of cut-throat competition in the world automobile market, China's auto parts and aftermarket industries have attracted a worldwide attention for their huge markets, low cost and ever improving quality. The world's major automobile manufacturers, auto parts suppliers and purchasers have transferred their purchasing to China one after another. Joint ventures of automobiles and auto parts in China have also begun their local purchasing due to their rapid development. The majority of these enterprises, however, are at the initial stage of purchasing in China; hence, they are unfamiliar with and inexperienced in China's auto parts and aftermarket industries, given the enormous size. Therefore, an efficient, normative and high-level platform is urgently needed for them.

As a developing country, China has witnessed fast growth in scale in the automobile industry. Consequently, its demand for advanced management, technologies, intelligence, research and development philosophy, capital and high quality and technologically advanced auto parts is increasing. This will create a huge market and the best opportunity for multinational companies to adjust their industrial chains.

Why You Should Come To China:

Fast Growing Economy
  • China is the 4th largest economic entity and the 3rd largest trader in the world.
  • It has maintained an annual GDP growth rate of about 10% for the past several years, and is one of the world's fastest growing economies.
  • In 2006, China's economic growth rate reached 10.50%, with a total GDP volume of $2.56 trillion (or 20 trillion RMB).
Huge Market Potentials and Demands
  • In 2006, the total output of automobiles reached 7.2 million, the sales numbered 7.2 million and the amount of cars possessed exceeded 38 million in China. It is already the 2nd largest automobile consumer and the 3rd largest whole car manufacturer in the world. The fast growth in China's automobile market has created new demands for global automobile industry.
  • Currently, less than 3% households in China own an automobile. The number of private cars possessed is estimated to reach 80 million in 2010. Even so, the rate of private automobile per hundred person in China is just the same as that of the USA in 1925, that of the Great Britain in 1950 and that of Japan in 1965. China is the world's largest potential market for automobiles.
  • At present, China has about 20,000 auto parts enterprises, of which 4,500 are of scale.
  • In 2005, the volume of China's domestic auto parts market was worth of 580 billion RMB, with a sales income of 403.5 billion RMB and an export volume of $14.85 billion. The spare parts market in China will achieve an annual growth rate of 35%.
  • In 2010, the sales volume of China's auto parts industry will reach 800 billion RMB, with an export volume of $40 billion.
Emerging Market
  • Emerging market provides the major opportunity for a long-term auto-sale increase. This is especially true with China.
  • The Chinese automobile industry is not on the same level with that of the developed countries. However, it excels that of the developing countries. On the whole, the Chinese automobile industry is characterized by a combination of both advanced and developing and newly-emerging market. Such a huge and structurally complementary market provides unprecedented opportunities for multinationals to develop in China.
  • China's auto market is well known for its high degree of opening, low standard of admission, low tariffs, and good market and policy environment for enterprise operation.
  • Compared with the saturated North American and European markets with their ever declining profits, the emerging market in China will provide more opportunities for all global auto manufacturers, and thus will play an increasingly important role in their success.
  • China has become an important exporter and emerging supplier of auto parts products, which no other country of the world could afford to ignore.
Balance of Quality and Price
  • Nowadays the intensifying competition in the global market and the increasing pressure for lower production cost have forced multinational groups to seek new quality-price balance.
  • Compared with developed countries, China has abundant and cheap human resources and sufficient engineering technical personnel.
  • China offers lower starting and operating costs compared with other countries in the world.
  • In addition, China enjoys competitive costs for engineering, innovations and R&D.
  • China is now learning and acquiring the advanced designing and engineering techniques from other countries. The balance between high quality and low cost will continuously increase the global competitiveness of China's auto parts products in the world markets.
  • The most competitive auto parts suppliers are all here in China.
Elites Gathering
  • World famous whole car manufacturers such as General Motors, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Volkswagen, BMW, DaimlerChrysler-Benz, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Renault, Fiat and so on have all set up joint ventures in China. They all have achieved great success in China.
  • Foreign auto parts enterprises, such as Bosch, Denso, Magna, Delphi, Visteon and Valeo, have already occupied over 60% share in the auto parts auxiliaries of the major car joint ventures in China. They have become important suppliers of vital assemblies and key parts for commercial vehicle enterprises in China, and have realized fat profits.

  • Beijing, where CIAPE is going to be held, is the capital of the People's Republic of China. Lying at the heart of East Asia, it is not only a hub of China's transportation (logistics and information) and communication, but also a hub of international aviation. Being the center of politics, culture, information and R&D, it is an international metropolis which well integrates Chinese traditional civilization with the modern automobile culture.
  • The exposition will attract both Chinese and foreign authorities in the auto industry to Beijing. The latest R&D achievements will be shared through the forms of product exhibition, forums, high-level meetings, seminars and product release. Hot topics which will cover the developing trends, division and policies of future global automobile, auto parts and aftermarket industries, including the emerging markets such as that in China, will be advocated.

Welcome to China
  • The development of China's automobile industry has benefited from China's policy of reform and opening up to the outside world, as well as its extensive cooperation with the global automobile industry. With economic integration, China has become the world's 2nd largest consumer and 3rd largest manufacturer of automobiles five years since its entry into the WTO. In this context, China will provide more opportunities for cooperation than ever before to the global automobile and auto parts industries. Cooperation will bring about a win-win situation which will not only develop China's own market but also the multinationals themselves.
  • The fast-growing economy and the ever-rising income standard has turned China, a huge potential market with its population of 1.3 billion, a wonderland for all automobile manufacturers. As the old saying has it "seeing is believing", you should come to China to see for yourself and attach great importance to the world's last huge market for automobiles. A miss is as good as a mile. Whoever lags behind is in danger of losing all these golden opportunities, so join us now?
  • In November 2007, with only a few months before the 2008 Olympic Games, you are more than welcome to Beijing for this international grand exposition of China's auto parts industry by way of exhibition, visit, purchasing, exchange, cooperation, business talks and so on.
